"I know that so many people also experience ‘Imposter syndrome’ in its different guises. That a lot of what’s holding me back is what’s in my head and I can work on this. Coaching has given me a greater awareness of what limits me to do well."
Band 8 NHS Manager
It has been a pleasure to have Maria as my coach in the last 7 months. Throughout the coaching process, Maria has been greatly helpful in coaching me in areas where potential improvements were identified. Maria made sure that I was always given something to think about in the gap leading up to the next session. Through the coaching process, I have also been able to secure another role which is of credit to Maria as she challenged me to think about my career goals and what I want to achieve.
Band 7 IT Leader
I thoroughly enjoyed the coaching experience. It provided me with time to reflect on where I am now and where I want to be. I have already made steps towards next career goals (Shadowing, using my current role to understand wide systems within the Trust) all of which I hope will start to pave the way for new opportunities. I feel I have more clarity on career prospects, but also keeping my mind open to other opportunities available. I really enjoyed the deep thinking, exploring barriers (that weren’t really barriers) and opening my mind to exploring what I wanted going forward.
Band 7 Specialist Nurse
Great experience for me as coachee and a developing coach. The coaching was safe, containing and appropriately managed. We explored many things, always at my pace. I felt the sessions flowed well and whilst they were very relaxed they also had a strength, presence and momentum that made them incredibly purposeful.

Sometimes the right person comes into your life at exactly the right time.
For me, that person was Maria Richardson at Willow Method Coaching.
Before meeting Maria, I’d tried counselling, and it just wasn’t the right fit for me. Then I was introduced to Maria, and everything changed. She helped me see things differently, understand myself better and move forward in a way I never thought possible.
I’ve had all of my sessions face-to-face, which has worked brilliantly for me. But I also know someone very close to me who had incredible success working with Maria via Zoom, so if you’re not local to Bellingham, don’t let distance put you off.
This isn’t an advert—it’s simply me sharing someone who has made a real difference to my life.
If you’re struggling, feeling stuck or carrying things that are holding you back, I genuinely recommend reaching out to her.
Thank you, Maria, for helping me become the person I am today. I’ll always be grateful.
